I love chess (not enough to be good at it). and I found myself looking for a nice chess set for my home. Around that time, I realised that this game is more than just the game itself, it is also what it represents. Like a piece of art that you go to a museum to see, chess is a piece of history that can't be wiped away.
Because of that, I decided to design a chess set that I could display in my home as proudly as a sculpture, capturing the essence and the timelessness of the game. The brand closes the gap between traditional and contemporary, using iconic yet elegant simple shapes complemented by a minimalist brand design.
This was my first official 3D project, so it taught me a lot about 3D animation, basic 3D modelling, light manipulation and rendering. Working on this definitely prepared me for a lot of new things I tried to do.
